NORTH Leigh will need to be at their very best when they host in-form Taunton Town in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West tomorrow, according to assistant boss Terry Merriman.

The Millers made it four wins from four with a 4-2 home victory over Slimbridge on Wednesday evening.

The visitors twice led, only for Kieran Sanders to pull the home side back on level terms on both occasions.

Elliot Osborne-Ricketts atoned for an early penalty miss to put North Leigh in front and George Seacole added a fourth.

Tomorrow’s visitors are the only other side in the division to boast a 100 per cent record, but Merriman backed the Millers to continue their run.

He said: “We’ve started well this season, but obviously so have they, so it’ll be a tough test for us and we can’t both win.

“We’re at home, so I’d like to think it will be us.

“Taunton are obviously a big town club and, while they can only have 11 players on the field just like us, the infrastructure they have in place off the pitch is something we can’t match.

“But we just have to look after what happens on the pitch and so far we’ve done that.”

Midfielder Michael Hopkins returns to the North Leigh squad, after missing out on Wednesday.

Banbury United are looking to build on back-to-back victories as they travel to in-form Cinderford Town.

But despite wins over Bridgwater Town and Burnham in the past week, boss Mike Ford is expected to make changes to his team.

He said: “We’ll make one or two changes, because we have some young lads out there and I just thought a couple were a bit leggy on Tuesday.”

Josh Dutton-Black returns to the Didcot Town squad following his recovery from an ankle injury as they travel to AFC Totton.

The Railwaymen are looking to recover from back-to-back defeats to Taunton Town and Mangotsfield United and joint manager Jamie Heapy has called on his players to maintain their concentration.

“We need to cut out the little mistakes and individual errors which have been costing us,” he said.

“I can’t fault their commitment and effort and I’d never call that into question.

“A little lapse or people switching off can cost you and we’ve seen that in the last two games.”

After thrashing strugglers Bashley 9-0 on Tuesday evening, Wantage Town look to continue where they left off at home to Shortwood United.
