OXFORD City assistant boss Danny Nicholls praised his side’s new-found steeliness following their gritty 1-0 win at Maidstone United.
In a game of few chances, it was City who held their nerve to take the points – something Nicholls believes wouldn’t have happened in the past.
He said: “I think we showed a resilience which we didn’t have last year.
“We can see games out when they’re on top of us.
“In the last ten minutes, they’re looking to get something back and we’re standing strong and we’re clearing balls, so I was pleased with that.”
The win maintained City’s unbeaten start to the season and Nicholls added: “It’s early days, but it’s good for confidence when we get an end product and we’re picking up points.”
