Connor Harris scored twice in the first half to lead Oxford City Nomads to a 3-0 victory away to a youthful Abingdon United on the opening day of the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division season on Saturday.
Harris netted with a low shot to put Nomads ahead midway though the first half.
Five minutes later he made it 2-0 with a fierce strike.
Abingdon rallied in the second half, but conceded another goal in the 65th minute when Ryan Barney sent a free-kick round the wall and into the bottom corner.
Kidlington scored twice in the first quarter in a 2-1 victory at home to Thatcham Town.
They took the lead on 17 minutes when Tommy Castle met Lewis Coyle’s corner with a bullet header to score.
Five minutes later it was 2-0, Coyle converting a free-kick after Ben Weedon had been brought down.
Despite being reduced to ten men when Mark Hughes was sent off for a challenge on George Morris, Thatcham pulled a goal back six minutes from time through Marc Thomas.
Ardley United came from behind to draw 1-1 at Binfield, who took the lead in the 49th minute through Jemel Johnson.
Ardley’s Luke Ingram hit a post before outpacing the Binfield back line to level the scores.
A depleted Letcombe lost down 4-1 away to Cheltenham Saracens in Division 1 West. Tom Stone scored their only goal.
