Kynan Isaac’s return to Banbury United could make the difference between survival and relegation, according to manager Paul Davis, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

The mercurial winger returned to the Puritans last week on a month-long loan from Luton Town and played in their 2-1 home defeat by Truro City on Saturday.

Davis feels he could go on to play a big part in the coming weeks, starting tomorrow at home to Dunstable Town.

“He set up our goal and I thought he brought a lot to the team,” he said.

“He’s got pace and he scores goals.

“Someone told me the other day that when he was last at Banbury he played 77 games, scored 27 goals and set up another third of the team’s goals.

“In total, last season he played a part in two thirds of Banbury’s goals, which is a phenomenal record.”

Davis added: “If he does well and Luton are happy, we’d love to extend his loan until the end of the season.

“Whether he’s a nuisance and whether he winds some people up doesn’t bother me because he’s a good player.”

Banbury remain rooted to the bottom of the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division table, eight points adrift of safety, with just one league win since October.

And Davis said it’s now or never for his side.

“The next three games will determine our season,” he said. “I’ve said to the players this week that how we do in these games will determine whether we stay up.

“I think we need at least seven points from the nine.

“If we end up with just two then I think it’s unlikely we can stay up.”
