Banbury United boss Paul Davis called on his players to continue a recent run of positive news with victory at home to Frome Town in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division tomorrow.
The Puritans officially moved off the bottom of the table after Hereford United’s record was expunged and with Banbury also experiencing an upturn in results Davis is feeling optimistic.
“We’ve been playing very well recently. We won 5-1 against Cirencester and drew 0-0 with Redditch who are in the top five,” he said.
“We’ve played Arlesey and Burnham, who are both down at the bottom, and we lost both 2-0 to both.

“I’ve told the boys that we have a points total to reach and we are going to reach that total.
“We can either do that the easy way, by beating the sides around us, or the hard way, by beating everyone else. It looks like it’s going to be the hard way.”
Midfielder Declan Hartigan starts a three-game suspension following his red card against Cirencester Town.
Meanwhile, Davis has also tried to secure the return of Oxford United duo Josh Shama and Aidan Hawtin.
But he admitted a move was unlikely in the near future.
He said: “Their contracts at United expire at the end of the season, so they want to get them out to a slightly higher level and see how they get on. But if that can’t happen then we’ll have first refusal on them.”
l BANBURY’S Oxfordshire Senior Cup quarter-final clash at home to Oxford City is on February 10.
Old Woodstock Town will host North Leigh on February 3, while Oxford City Nomads travel to Ardley United on February 17.
Oxford United’s home tie against Easington has yet to be announced.
