ADAM Learoyd’s third-minute goal gave Didcot Town a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Cinderford Town in last night’s Southern League Division 1 South & West clash.

With the two teams above the Railwaymen in the table, Merthyr Town and Stratford Town, both suffering home defeats, Didcot are now just two points off top spot after extending their unbeaten run to 11 games.

Learoyd’s early header proved enough to earn the hosts the points, and made it six straight leage wins, setting them up nicely for Saturday’s clash at Forest Green Rovers in the first round of the FA Trophy.

Wantage Town, however, remain in trouble at the foot of the table after a 3-0 defeat at Clevedon Town.
