North Leigh boss Mark Gee has praised the resilience of his side ahead of tomorrow’s home game against Clevedon Town in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West.

He was impressed by the way they twice fought back to draw 3-3 at home to Shortwood United on Wednesday.

Gee feared the worst as the Millers trailed 3-1 with 20 minutes left, but goals from Keiren Sanders and Jamie Cook secured a draw.

“You look for a bit of inspiration at 3-1 down and it came when Kieren scored a wonder goal from 25 yards and then Jamie smashed one in, so I was quite relieved at the end.”

Sanders, though, won’t be available for the visit of Clevedon Town because he begins a suspension as do Elliott Osborne-Ricketts and Morgan Williams. Aaron Woodley, Callum McNish and Conor Ingram are all set to start.

“It’s a shame losing all three, but we have enough quality to cope,” added Gee.

Wantage Town hand debuts to new signings Mark Janes and Daniel Warne at home to second-placed Merthyr Town.

They are added to a squad which includes defender Joe Parish, who has rejoined from Didcot Town.

Boss Daniel Barry, who is away for the game, meaning assistant Ian Lovegrove will take charge, was pleased to land the trio.

“I am happy to get Joe back after losing him last season,” said Barry.

“It’s good to add another young player with quality to the squad.”

It followed the departure this week of seven players.

Wantage will be without George Reid (suspended), Bradley Shaw (injured) and Karl Roberts (work).
