Banbury United boss Paul Davis is hoping that showing his players a dvd of their 5-1 home mauling by Hereford United will ensure it doesn’t happen again.

Davis was furious with the attitude of some of his players in Tuesday’s Premier Division loss which he said was unacceptable.

Banbury had been looking to forget Saturday’s home game match against Slough which was abandoned after the referee was hit by a bottle.

However, after Banbury went ahead, Hereford hit back for victory.

“That is the first time I have seen the players give up,” said Davis.

“They only played 45 minutes on Saturday, so they should have been fresh.

“We’ve had some difficult fixtures, but you have to work hard and have the right attitude to come through.

“But they didn’t show either of those and they let everyone down and we’ll be sitting down to watch it back.”

Davis, whose side travel to Evesham United in tomorrow’s first round clash, wants a reaction from his team.

He added: “I want to see them put in the effort against Evesham.

“If we match them for work-rate and lose then fair enough, but I will not accept players not putting the work in.”

Meanwhile, Harry White and Shepherd Murombedzi could play at a higher level should trials prove successful.

Murombedzi is at Championship club Leeds, while White is spending a week at Vanarama Conference side Bristol Rovers.

The boss added: “It’s frustrating because I haven’t heard anything from either club. I expected better.”

Banbury will be without Elias Katsoloudis, who has joined Redditch, though Tom Ryan could be added if he passes a late fitness test.

Didcot Town will be missing Josh Dutton-Black for their trip to Bideford Town.

The frontman bruised a toe in Tuesday’s 7-0 home win against Bashley and could be out for two weeks.

So Ryan Brooks has been recalled from his loan spell at Ardley United.

Joint-boss Ian Concannon revealed they had received an approach for John Mills from an unnamed Southern League club for the 26-goal striker.

Concannon said: “A Premier Division made a seven-day approach for him, but he told them he wasn’t interested.”

Didcot are still without Lance Williams (hamstring).

North Leigh keeper Kane Lewis gets a call-up for their tough test at Premier Division leaders Poole Town.

He comes in for regular Matt Bulman who is on holiday. And boss Mark Gee has every confidence in the youngster.

“I have no qualms about putting him in,” said Gee.

“He played a couple of games for us last season and did very well.”

Brothers Matt and Aaron Woodley, and Brian Bowles return, but Callum McNish (ban) and Andy Gunn (ankle) miss out.
