NORTH Leigh hit back from 3-0 behind to beat Didcot Town 4-2 on penalties in a dramatic Evo-Stik Southern League Red Insure Cup first round tie after the sides finished level at 4-4 after extra time.

Hosts Didcot looked to have last night’s game wrapped up when Sam Elkins put them ahead and a John Mills double made it 3-0.

However, goals from Brian Bowles, Morgan Williams and Kieran Sanders took the game to extra time.

Ryan Brooks restored Didcot’s lead, only for Callum McNish to level once again.

Harry White hit a hat-trick for Banbury United, but his efforts were in vain as the Puritans went down 5-3 at home to Daventry.

Banbury trailed 3-0 after 23 minutes, but White’s treble gave them hope at 4-3, only for a late strike to clinch Daventry’s victory.
