BANBURY United’s Tom Fishwick will not be suspended, despite being sent off after the referee admitted he was wrong to dismiss him.

Fishwick was sent off for a second bookable offence during the Puritans’ 4-1 defeat at Truro City on Saturday after referee Steve Annis mistook him for Jack Westbrook, whom he had cautioned earlier.

The decision, made when Banbury led 1-0, stood on the day, but the defender will not face a suspension after Annis admitted his error.

Paul Davis’s side visit high-flying Dunstable Town in the Premier Division tonight, but the manager admitted they were still hurting from Saturday’s defeat.
