Oxford City’s Skrill North survival hopes have been given a huge boost with the Football Conference announcing they have accepted Vauxhall Motors’ resignation, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

In doing so, they also confirmed that only two sides will be relegated from Skrill North this season.

That puts City two places above the drop zone ahead of the visit of leaders AFC Telford United to Marsh Lane tonight.

“That’s a situation that we’ve been aware of for some time and obviously it’s always in the back of your mind,” said manager Mike Ford.

“Clearly it’s got to that time of the year when you are looking at other teams’ results, but if we do our bit that’s all irrelevant because we’ll have earned enough points to stay up.”

A run of four games unbeaten has lifted City a point clear of the relegation zone, but after playing three times last week Ford says he will make changes.

“I plan to make a raft of changes, so we’ll be nice and fresh,” he added.

“I’m going to put out a side which gives us the best possible opportunity to win the game.

“There’s no pressure on us at all, it’s all on Telford.”

Goalkeeper Mark Scott could return to the side after missing the last two matches due to the recurrence of the back injury, which has kept him sidelined for a month.
