North Leigh’s inconsistent form continued when they suffered suffered a disappointing defeat away to their Calor League Division 1 South & West play-off rivals.

Following their excellent midweek win over Mangotsfield United, the Millers were second best to ten-man Supermarine on Saturday.

In the first half, former North Leigh keeper Sam Warrell now resident in goal for Marine, pushed a shot from Sanders over the bar.

The opening goal came on 40 minutes when Bradley Gray headed the ball back across goal to Josh Parsons, who swept the ball past a helpless Millers keeper Adam McHugh .

With Jacob Walcott and Zak Westlake replacing the injured Sanders and skipper Stuart Hole, the Millers had a boost when the hosts were reduced to ten men.

Harry Etheridge hacked down Liam Malone for a second yellow and was dismissed, having been cautioned for a similar crude challenge on the same player in the first half.

With North Leigh running out of ideas, the home side got their second crucial goal when Parsons latrched onto the ball and clipped it past McHugh from an acute angle.

Although North Leigh continued to push forward, their only effort was a long-range one from Brian Bowles, which whistled just wide of a post.
