Didcot Town slumped to a heavy defeat at Calor League Division 1 South & West leaders Merthyr Town.

It halted the Railwaymen’s four-match away winning streak.

Didcot went behind early on to a Kayne McLaggon strike.

But they recovered well to level. John Mills exchanged passes with Pablo Haysham on the edge of the box, before finding the far corner.

Ryan Prosser shot past James Foster in the Didcot goal from 20 yards to restore the hosts’ lead.

After the break, Merthyr extended their lead with McLaggon’s second.

Jamie Heapy hit the bar for Didcot who had chance to cut the lead when Josh Dutton-Black was pushed.

But Mills fired the resulting penalty high and wide.

Ian Traylor made it 4-1, before McLaggon sealed his hat-trick to make it a long trip home for Didcot.
