North Leigh got their Calor League Division 1 South & West play-off bid back on track with a classy victory at Eynsham Park on Saturday.

A super second-half display secured the success to end their four-match winless run.

But it was the visitors, with former Oxford United winger Lewis Haldane in their line-up who started the stronger with Adam McHugh tipping away a close-range shot from Luke Bryan.

At the other end, Yate keeper Conor Cable palmed away a right-foot strike from Conor McDonagh. But Cable was helpless when Jon Else’s header from Kieran Sanders’ cross hit the bar.

The Millers went ahead early in the second half.

Elliott Osborne-Ricketts picked out McDonagh, who turned and hit a low shot past Cable into the far corner.

It wasn’t long before North Leigh doubled their lead.

Taking a pass in the opposition half, Osborne-Ricketts charged for goal and hit a terrific 20-yard left-foot shot into the far corner.

The Millers sealed victory with the goal of the game.

Sanders charged forward before unleashing a 25-yard shot that dipped and swerved past a stunned Cable.

North Leigh then eased home with little difficulty.
