Former Oxford City duo Michael Alexis and Andy Gunn could return to the Blue Square Bet North new boys should a trial prove a success.
Midfielder Alexis, who spent last season at Hemel Hempstead Town, and defender Gunn, from Aylesbury United, played in City’s 1-0 friendly win at Banbury United on Saturday, and are in line for tonight’s trip to Swindon Supermarine.
“I know Michael very well,” said Ford. “He thought he wouldn’t get a regular place here, but then Darren Pond was injured, so he probably would have played anyway.
“With Gunny, I offered him a deal, but he just decided to leave.
“They both rang me in the summer and said they would like to have a crack at playing at this level.”
Meanwhile, defender James Clarke has returned from Yeovil after being injured while having a trial at the League One club.
He has been invited back at a later date.
STRIKER Luke Cuff has replaced Shaun Pearce as player-manager of Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 West side Headington Amateurs. Pearce is taking a break from football.
Liam Morbey took the Norman Smith Trophy for the players’ player of the year at the club’s presentation night. Shaun Jacob was manager’s player.
