DEAN Morgan and Cristian Montano will remain at Oxford United until the end of the season after agreeing extensions to their loan stays.

The deals will also ensure the forwards are still at the Kassam Stadium for any play-off games which could follow next month.

Morgan’s initial month-long loan from Chesterfield expires on Monday, but a new arrangement has been agreed between the clubs and the player.

Montano’s temporary contract does not expire for another week, so although nothing has been officially signed an agreement with West Ham has been made in principle.

United boss Chris Wilder is pleased to have the duo available during the final games of the season, but is keen to see more of a contribution.

He said: “We’ve been given permission for both to stay, which we’re glad about – they’ve both done OK so we’re looking for them to kick on now.

“They’ve had a settling-in period and both have been part of a team which has done pretty well in the last month.

“We’re looking for them to add something in the back end of the season.”

The pair will give Wilder extra options up front, with fellow strikers Jon-Paul Pittman and Tom Craddock due to return from injuries this month.
