OXFORD United will travel to Ewood Park and back today as boss Karl Robinson looks to save money for use next season.
The squad would normally have an overnight stay for the 370-mile round-trip to Blackburn Rovers.
But with the U’s safe from relegation in Sky Bet League One, Robinson wants to cut costs at the end of the campaign in the hope it can help next term.
He said: “We’re going up there on the day, so we’ll be saving a few quid.
“If we can keep that in our budget for next year I think it’s important.
“This club has spent too much money this year, in my view.
“If we can claw any of that back, which we have done, we can get ourselves in a position in the summer where we can be very forward-thinking and utilise these funds in a different way.”
