LONG Wittenham ended the 100 per cent record of Saxton Rovers, holding the Abingdon side to a 1-1 draw in Division 1 of the North Berks League, writes Richard Underwood.

The visitors took the lead when a fine run and cross by Joe Murphy found Arron Colley, who fired past Saxton keeper Jack Absolom.

Saxton hit back to level after the break when Niall Hodgkins headed home Frankie Haines’s corner.

Saxton were reduced to ten men when Tom Booker was sent off, allowing Wittenham to hold on for a point.

Stanford in the Vale lost 3-0 to North Oxford, who collected their first win.

Their goals came from Charles Appiah (2) and Sadiq Hamis.

In Division 2, Blewbury moved up to second with a 3-1 win against Faringdon Town Res, thanks to goals from Charlie Noble, Liam Kay and Charlie Jamieson.

A Dan Walkingshaw treble helped Wallingford Town Res to a 4-2 win over Saxton Rovers Res.

Jamie Thurston scored their fourth, with Michael Smith and Harry Chadwick replying.

East Hendred Res romped to a 10-0 victory against visitors Hagbourne United to go eight points clear at the top of Division 3.

William McDonald led the way with four goals, while Mark Brind (2), Neil Cheshire, Tom North, Liam Eltham and an own goal completed the rout.

Wallingford Town A picked up their first win of the season with a 6-3 triumph against visitors Uffington United.

Cedric Nkouh hit a hat-trick, with Brandon Burton, Tom Dodwell and Louis Chainey also netting.

Pete Byrne (2) and Lewis Bain replied.

l Ardington booked their place in the third round of the North Berks League Cup with a 3-1 win at Watlington Town.

Luke Fairclough, Jamie Gregory and Shane McGowan were on target, with Chris Little replying.
