FREELAND defeated Horspath 6-5 in a penalty shoot-out to reach the semi-finals of the Oxfordshire Charity Cup.

In a high-scoring match, the teams finished 5-5 after extra-time.

The shoot-out saw Freeland keeper Adam Lonsdale save two penalties, before Rob Keylock scored the decisive spot-kick.

It was an extraordinary win for last year’s beaten finalists, who fought back from 3-0 down to lead 4-3, before Horspath equalised in the 90th minute to take the match into extra-time.

Horspath regained the lead, before Freeland, for whom Danny Taylor scored a hat-trick, netted late on to take the match to penalties.

There was a more straight forward victory for Hanborough, who brushed aside Marston Saints to reach the last four.

A Jack Morton treble was the highlight, with Craig Johnson (2) and Dan Haggie scoring the others.

Other result: Watlington Tn 3 (A Holloway 3), Charlton Utd 2.

Meanwhile, Cropredy extended their lead at the top of the Oxfordshire Senior League to seven points with a resounding 6-0 victory at home to Yarnton.

It was a sixth straight win for Cropredy.

The hosts led 4-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Dan Watkin, Aaron Dineen, Luc Thornton and a Dan Reeves penalty.

Reeves added a second after the break, before setting up their sixth for Chris Horn.

Sean Hurcombe hit a hat-trick inside 15 minutes on the way to a five-timer.

Alex Pratchett scored his 100th goal for Union Street in a double as they beat Dorchester 4-2.
