OXFORD City recorded a second win in four days after beating Hungerford Town 2-0 last night.

Zac McEachran and Matt Paterson were on target for Mark Jones’s side in the Vanarama National League South clash at Court Place Farm.

The visitors were on top early on, with City keeper Craig Hill alert to keep out a Stefan Brown shot before making an even better save to deny Jon Boardman on 20 minutes.

Hungerford somehow failed to convert from a goalmouth scramble, before City came more into the game as the half wore on, Eddie Jones, Godfrey Poku and Reece Fleet going close.

McEachran gave City the lead three minutes after half-time, firing home left-footed from the edge of the box.

Paterson doubled the lead on 67 minutes, rounding the keeper after good work from Ezre Forde.

Oxford City: Hill, Poku, Grant, Jones (Ngathe 77), Henderson, Oastler, McEachran, Fleet, Paterson, Hirst (Forde 66), Pearce (Fofana 70). Subs (not used): Demuria, Navarro.

Banbury United made it two wins from two after a 3-1 victory over Chesham United in the Evo-Stik South Premier Division.

Tom Winters and Conor McDonagh scored either side of half-time for Mike Ford’s men.

Although the visitors pulled one back, Jefferson Louis made it safe late on.

Didcot Town beat Wimborne Town 4-2 in South League West.

George Reid and an own goal – within 60 seconds of each other – saw the hosts go 2-0 ahead.

Dan Cann and James Stokoe scored either side of half-time to level at 2-2.

But Reid and Matty Woodley gave Didcot a first win of the season.

Lewis Coyle’s 17th-minute goal gave Kidlington a 1-0 victory at Winchester City.
