OXFORD City are still looking for their first point of the season after losing 1-0 at Hampton & Richmond Borough last night.

A 52nd-minute goal from Ryan Moss proved the difference between the sides as City suffered back-to-back defeats in Vanarama National League South.

Freddie Grant saw an effort blocked for the visitors early on.

And City went even closer to breaking the deadlock on 34 minutes when Zac McEachran’s shot was deflected onto the crossbar.

Hampton had a goal disallowed for offside two minutes later, before squandering the best chance of the half five minutes before the break.

City were penalised for a foul in the area, only for keeper Craig Hill to save Tom Jelley’s spot-kick and send the teams into half-time level.

However, just seven minutes after the restart the hosts went ahead when Moss fired home from a tight angle.

Substitute Ezra Forde went close for City late on, but they could not find an equaliser.

Oxford City: Hill, Poku, Grant, Oastler, Henderson, Demuria (Forde 77), Jones, Fleet, Paterson, McEachran, Pearce (Hirst 65). Subs not used: Forde, Ngathe, Navarro, Fasanmade.

Attendance: 302.
