OXFORD United Women’s manager Andy Cook is hoping his side can sign off their Spring Series campaign on a high tomorrow.

The U’s have failed to record a victory in Women’s Super League 2.

But Cook, pictured, insists him team are in a much better place than when their season got under way.

And he believes a win against Doncaster Belles at Abingdon United’s Northcourt Road ground would be the perfect ending to a tough campaign.

“We’ve made progress,” he said.

“It has been tough, but this team is in a much better place than when I started two months ago and it’s only going to get better.

“On Sunday we end with the toughest game against Doncaster.

“But a win in this final game would be a perfect way to round off the Spring Series.”

U’s midfielder Lauren Haynes says the club will continue to make big strides and shares her manager’s sentiments.

“It has been a tough year in terms of results, but performance-wise we have grown and grown. There is no doubt if we continue doing what we are doing, the results will come and we will be ready for next September.”

Kick-off tomorrow is at 2pm.
