OXFORDSHIRE were beaten 4-2 in their FA County Youth Cup third round tie away to Liverpool, despite twice taking the lead.
Ahmed Farah netted after ten minutes, slotting home from ten yards after some good play by Sami Khawaja, but the hosts levelled before the break.
Captain Josh Gibbens headed Oxfordshire back in front after 55 minutes, but again the lead only lasted 12 minutes before Liverpool restored parity.
Khawaja went close to giving the away side the lead for a third time when he crashed an effort off the bar, but the hosts went straight down the other end to net their third.
And the home team added a fourth goal in contentious circumstances five minutes from time as Oxon pressed forward as they looked for an equaliser.
