BLOXHAM inflicted a first defeat of the season on Oxford Mail Girls League Under 16 League leaders Kidlington, narrowly edging a thrilling encounter 4-3.

Abi Haynes struck twice and Milly Simmonds also scored for Kidlington, but braces from Jemma Welling and Emily Parker won it for the home side.

Phoebe Warner’s hat-trick gave Tower Hill Vixens a 3-1 victory as they leapfrogged hosts Benson United into third place.

Amy Loveridge netted from the penalty spot for the home side, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the clinical Vixens.

Summertown Stars Red overcame a spirited Tower Hill Vixens comeback to win 3-2 and maintain their perfect record in Group A of the Under 12 Cup.

Vixens made a disastrous start and found themselves 2-0 down after ten minutes, yet hit back through Sophia Cox and Isabelle Riley.

But the visitors struck late on to claim victory, with two goals from Charlotte Evans and another from Anna Hamerow enough to send them through.

A goal late in the first half by Elizabeth Ledgard-Hoile gave Charlbury a 1-0 victory at home to Abingdon Youth.

In Group B, Oxford City stormed to a 5-0 win at Benson United thanks to goals from Ella Stevens, Grace Richards, Victoria Traff, Ellie Bradbury and Billie French.
