BRADLEY Bubb is delighted with the impact he has made since joining Oxford City during the summer

The 27-year-old made it three goals in four games with a penalty on Tuesday night to earn a 2-2 draw at home to Basingstoke Town.

It included a spectacular goal on debut, when he netted direct from kick-off against Chelmsford City.

He became a viral phenomenon after the video was posted online.

He said: “I did tweet about it after the match, but no-one really reacted to it because they didn’t believe me.

“Once the footage came out that was when it really started blowing up.

“I think now it’s got over 50,000 views on YouTube, so that’s been good.

“I’ve had one or two interviews about it and people still keep tweeting me the video, which is nice.”

And while Vanarama National League South may be frequently overlooked for the quality of football on display, Bubb believes his goal has highlighted the standard at Oxford City.

“It’s good publicity for me and the club,” he said.

“Hopefully people will start taking notice of the way we play football, because we do play good football, so that should put us out there.

“We’re a good team, so hopefully people will start noticing that.”

And he insisted that he’ll be happy if his first goal for the club is his best – as long as more follow during the rest of the season.

Bubb added: “’ll take any goal. If it comes off my knee I’ll take it, if it comes off my back I’ll take it.

“Hopefully I’ll just keep scoring goals.”
