CALLUM McNish scored twice as North Leigh made it three successive wins with a convincing 4-0 victory at Wimborne Town to head the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West table.

After an even opening 30 minutes, Kieran Sanders curled the ball past Jason Harvell, before McNish stroked home a second.

North Leigh dealt with early pressure at the beginning of the second half and on 74 minutes, McNish robbed Ian Oliver of possession and dinked the ball through Harvell’s legs for 3-0.

George Seacole added a fourth with 12 minutes to go.

Leam Howards hit two goals as Banbury United recorded their first victory of the season, with a convincing 4-1 success at Bridgwater Town.

Howards opened the scoring in the 19th minute, latching onto Jack McLaughlin’s through ball.

Zac McEachran slotted home on the half-hour mark to make it 2-0, before Howards tapped home before the break.

The hosts improved after half-time and pulled a goal back through Reeko Best.

Banbury nearly extended their lead immediately from kick-off as Mark Bell attempted an audacious shot that hit the bar.

However, United did get a fourth, thanks to Carl Tappin’s stoppage-time overhead kick.

Didcot Town suffered their first defeat of the season as they went down to a 2-0 defeat at home to Taunton Town.

The Railwaymen went behind after three minutes when Josh Searle fired past Leigh Bedwell.

Mark Janes and Conor McDonagh were both denied by Taunton keeper Lloyd Irish and the visitors made it 2-0 when Jordan Rogers slotted home just before the break.

McDonagh forced a save out of Irish in the second half, but Didcot were unable to find the breakthrough.

Wantage Town are still looking for their first win after they were beaten 2-1 at ten-man Burnham.

The hosts took the lead after five minutes when Tre Mitford headed home from close range.

Wantage struggled in the final third and went further behind on 35 minutes when Carl Davies scored from the penalty spot.

The Freds hit back after the break as Steve Davis fired home Ben Whitehead’s cross and they were in the ascendency after Dominic Rhone was sent off.

However, they were unable to make the extra man count.
