Jason Conder scored twice as New Club Wheatley came from behind to beat Kennington Athletic 2-1 and win the Critchleys UTV League Ridgeway Cup at Abingdon Town, writes MATTHEW HARDY.

New Club turned league form on its head to beat a Kennington side they had lost to twice this season and overturn Leon Blackmore Such’s opener.

After Kennington edged the early exchanges, they deservedly took the lead on ten minutes when Blackmore Such nodded home.

The game turned on its head after the break with two goals in seven minutes.

Kennington failed to clear their lines and Conder was on hand to lob the ball over Matty Hutton and into the back of the net.

Just minutes later, Conder grabbed his second.

Jake Lewis fed the striker, who neatly found the top corner for what turned out to be the winning goal.

Kennington threw everything at their opponents as they went in search of an equaliser, but New Club held on.

Blackbird FC clinched the Hedley Toms Trophy with a convincing 4-1 win over North Oxford Conservative Club at the same Abingdon venue.

Carl Bloomfield fired Blackbird into a second minute lead and scored his second just moments later, after indecision in the North Oxford defence.

However, they reduced the arrears when Joey Beauchamp’s fine cross was turned home by Andy Potter.

Despite finding their way back into the tie, goals from Anaclet Odhiambo and Kieran Davis saw Blackbird lift the trophy.

In league action, Barton United bounced back from their loss to Premier Division title rivals AFC Jericho with a 5-0 win against Zubry Oxford.

Sam Waters Cup winners Barton now need to win their last four games to seal the double.
