STAFF at Tesco in Haydock received a certificate of thanks from the Royal British Legion after helping them raise thousands of pounds from their poppy collection.
The store on Church Road welcomed members of the Ashton Branch of the legion at the end of last year to sell poppies in the store raising a total of £7,143.
John Burns from the legion said: "I would like to thank the manager Helen Payne and all her staff for their help and support during our time in the store. It would be remiss of me not to thanks all of their wonderful customers without who this total could not have been achieved."
