IT was, famously, one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.
And the worldwide excitement in 1969 at the first-ever Moon landing was shared by commuters at Glasgow Central Station, where a special electronic noticeboard kept everyone updated with the progress of the Apollo mission of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.
Central Station itself looks quite old-fashioned to modern eyes and has since undergone a lot of updating. It makes for a strange contrast with news of the space-age adventure that was unfolding in the skies above.
