MARTIN Heath, a member of Scotland's European championship winning

squash side last year, is set to make his professional debut on the

world-ranking circuit in South America next month, writes Elspeth

Burnside.

He intends playing in four events in which there is more than #30,000

in prize money.

''My original plan was to go the States,'' said Heath, who completes

his sports science degree finals at Glasgow University tomorrow. ''But

there is better prize money in South America and, therefore, the chance

to pick up more ranking points.

''I will go to South America in the middle of July and base myself in

Brazil until the end of August.''
