SANDNES, the Norwegian women's champions, ended Scottish interest in
European volleyball competition for the current season. In Stavanger on
Saturday night they beat Glasgow Powerhouse 15-9, 15-6, 15-7 to advance
to the second round of the European Cup by 6-0 on aggregate.
On the domestic front, Bellshill Cardinals took a set off Su Ragazzi
in the men's first division of the Royal Bank Scottish League before
going down 15-4, 15-3, 8-15, 15-5 and Jets and Coatbridge fought out an
epic five-set battle before Jets won through 14-16, 15-10, 15-10, 8-15,
18-16.
In the women's first division, Team Components Bureau beat Pentland
NUVOC 15-6, 15-2, 15-5. Results:
