GRAMPIAN police will be out in force in Elgin this morning to interview more people about the missing mother Arlene Fraser.

Mrs Fraser disappeared a week ago. She waved her children, Jamie, 10, and five-year-old Natalie, off to school at 8.50am on Tuesday.

But the 33-year-old was not there when they got home and has not been seen since.

Searches of the area by mountain rescue teams, dogs, divers and a helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth have proved unsuccessful. On Sunday more than 300 people joined in the search but failed to find any trace.

One week on, officers will be targeting railway and bus stations and an inquiry team will be present at Elgin Primary School for people to get in touch.

Chief Inspector Laurie Stewart said: ''By focusing our efforts at this time, we want to jog someone's memory, perhaps someone who makes a weekly trip to Elgin or goes to work at roughly the same time every day.

''The large amount of publicity has not yet led us to find out what has happened to Mrs Fraser but, through officers carrying out individual interviews we hope to receive more information.

''The emphasis today will be on pro-actively speaking to members of the public as opposed to them contacting us.

''We cannot stress enough that no matter how insignificant people think their information is, please just contact the police.''
