OXFORD United have strengthened their attacking options before tomorrow's clash with Morecambe by signing Armand Gnanduillet on loan.

The 23-year-old striker joins from Chesterfield until the end of the season and completed the paperwork in time to be eligible to face the Shrimps at the Kassam Stadium.

Gnanduillet was a regular in the Chesterfield side which won Sky Bet League Two last season, scoring six goals.

Born in France, he has represented Ivory Coast at under 20 level.

The forward has three goals in 30 appearances for Sky Bet League One side this season and netted twice in a four-game loan spell at Tranmere Rovers earlier this season.

Michael Appleton, United's head coach said: “He made a big impression last year when Chesterfield won this division and he has been in and around their squad for most of this season.

"He is a big lad but he is mobile as well and gives defenders a lot of problems.

“He gives us something different at the top of the pitch and we are pleased to have him here with us.”
