PAUL Robinson believes Oxford United could set out to frustrate tomorrow in response to Portsmouth’s recent results.

Andy Awford’s side go into the game as Sky Bet League Two’s form side after collecting 14 points from their last six games.

It includes a 6-2 win at Cambridge United last weekend – Pompey’s first away win since their 1-0 smash-and-grab raid at the Kassam Stadium in August.

They also came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at home to Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night.

Given the sudden glut of goals and victories, Robinson predicts United will be cagey for their visit to Fratton Park.

The Portsmouth skipper told The News: “The more that we play well and get good results, the more teams might look to come here and frustrate us.

“I’m sure we will need more of that patience and that belief against Oxford.

“Sometimes a few people might get carried away and think the wins will just come along.

“It doesn’t work like that.

“It’s about having that patience and the confidence to keep believing.

“We’ve got a good little unbeaten run and we need to keep it going now.”

The game is only United’s second visit to Fratton Park since 1998.

They ran out 4-1 winners on the opening day of last season, when Deane Smalley and Alfie Potter.
