FREELAND put more distance between themselves and the bottom of the Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division table with a 3-1 victory at basement boys Bletchingdon.

Craig Wood, George Seacole and Jefferson Harriott scored for the visitors and although Joe Barrett pulled a goal back for Bletch in the second half they couldn’t prevent a third straight defeat.

In Division 2, Adam Walsh grabbed three goals and there were also two for Danny Clarke as Oxford University Press Res won 5-1 at Yarnton Res.

The visitors raced to a three-goal lead inside 20 minutes and never looked back, although substitute Michael Trafford did pull one back for Yarnton late in the game.

A hat-trick from Tom Gerken gave Freeland Res a 3-1 win at Eynsham Res.

The hosts took an early lead thanks to Neil Hobday, but Gerken equalised before the break, adding another early in the second half and completing his treble from the penalty spot.

Sean Hurcombe netted three times as Oxford University Press destroyed Charlton United 7-1 in the quarter- finals of the Oxfordshire Charity Cup.

It all started well for the visitors as Matt Hillsden headed them into an early lead, but after Martin Ognyanov levelled for OUP the momentum shifted drastically.

Goals from Jonny Roberts and Hurcombe before the break put the hosts in control.

They ran riot in the second half as Hurcombe grabbed two more alongside goals from Aaron Hall and Matthew Spooner.

There was also a hat-trick for Luke Manning as he helped Hailey to a 5-3 victory at Garsington.

Jack Woods (2) completed the scoring for the visitors, while Garsington registered with a brace from Carl Bloomfield and a Tyrone Brackett goal.
