Banbury United manager Paul Davis admitted his side’s recent disciplinary record has caused him plenty of problems, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

The Puritans have finished their last two games with ten men following red cards for Jack Westbrook against Frome Town and Joel Meade at Dorchester Town.

However, Davis said he won’t be changing his side’s approach for the visit of in-form Hungerford Town tomorrow in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division.

Davis said: “It was a problem a couple of months ago because we weren’t putting tackles in and everything was too easy for the opposition.

“Now it seems we’ve gone the other way.

“Some of the sendings-off have been deserved, but we’ve not been helped by some poor refereeing.

“The one last weekend wasn’t even a foul and somehow Joel has been sent off, but the referee was bad all game.”

It’s not just being reduced to ten men which has caused Davis headaches, but suspensions as well.

Declan Hartigan serves the third game of his ban, while Westbrook starts a three-game suspension.

Davis added: “Jack was my centre half at the weekend and in a couple of weeks we’ll have Joel Meade out as well, so it does pose us a big problem. It’s probably more of a problem than having to play with ten men.”
