With leaders Highmoor Ibis in cup action, Kidlington seized the chance to go top of the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division with a 5-2 home win over bottom club Cheltenham Saracens.

However, it wasn’t plain sailing for the hosts as Saracens twice led in the first half through a Deco Chick penalty and Luke Finch’s direct free-kick sandwiched around a Jack Quainton strike.

Ingram had opened the scoring for Ardley with a cracking shot in the second minute, only for John Rixon and Rhys Denton to hit back and give the visitors a half-time lead.

However, Gavin Kidd scrambled an equaliser in the 78th minute, and Ingram grabbed the winner from an acute angle a minute from time.

Milton United went down 3-1 at home to Brimscombe & Thrupp.

Sam Blackie’s brace put the visitors in charge at half-time, and although Bradley Chalmers pulled one back after the break, a David Woodfield goal sealed Milton’s fate.

Kieran Cochrane’s eighth-minute opener for Abingdon was cancelled out by Stuart Fraser.
