Wantage Town manager Daniel Barry says he doesn’t expect Bradley Shaw to play again this season as he struggles with a serious knee injury.

The striker is waiting for an MRI scan on ligament damage to assess the extent of the injury.

“It will all depend on the results of the scan,” said Barry.

“I struggle to see him being part of the squad this season.”

Meanwhile, Barry is looking for his side to blow away the cobwebs at home to form-side Bridgwater Town in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West tomorrow.

Wantage have seen their last two matches called off due to waterlogged pitches, much to Barry’s frustration.

He added: “We were all disappointed the last two games have been called off as we felt we could have got something.

“The squad has come together really well. Lovers (assistant boss Ian Lovegrove) and have been impressed with the attitude of the lads.

“But the postponements meant we have managed to get a couple of good training sessions in.

“This will be the first game that all the new signings have been named in the squad.

“And it will be a good test to gauge where we are at, and what we need to work on.”

Wantage will also be without Sam Barder (suspended), James Glover (unavailable) and George Reid, who has reached the last 64 of the English Schools’ FA under 18 regional trials at Lilleshall.
