Banbury United manager Paul Davis says Ade Talabi has what it takes to play in the Football League.

Since Davis brought Talabi back to Banbury for his second spell, the Milton Keynes player has been in great form.

Last weekend the 25-year-old bagged a brace in their 3-2 FA Trophy win against Marine to take his tally to hit five goals in his last four games.

And Davis said he would not be surprised if a professional clubs come calling.

“Ade’s looked like new player since we bought him back,” said Davis.

“He has played 100 games for Banbury, but was a player there before and I went and got him again.

“We’re getting a bit more out of him.

“He scores goals, but off the ball he has really improved.

“I think playing him through the middle has helped.”

Davis, whose side travel to Paulton Rovers in the Premier Division tomorrow, added: “He could play in the Football League easily.

“He needs a young manager to take a chance on him because he is a bit raw.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if someone came in, but I would be surprised if he went.

“When Ged McCrory was chairman he took him to Swindon for a couple of weeks and really enjoyed it.

“He then had a year out of football, so maybe he doesn’t want to play professionally.

“He plays football because he enjoys it, he’s not money driven.”

Banbury’s Tom Ryan returns from injury.
