Coach Chris Allen says Oxford United’s youth team are relishing the chance to play at the Kassam Stadium tonight.

The U’s will face Swindon Town in the FA Youth Cup second round (7.30), with a trip to Manchester City awaiting the winners.

Allen says the fact it is a local derby makes his team talk easy, because the players are already up for the game.

“We have played Swindon twice in the league and have managed to get six points off them, so we are hoping for the same again,” he said.

Latest United news:

“They know all about us, we know all about them, so I think it will be a great game with a bit of added spice being a local derby.

“The lads are really excited about it, the pitch is fantastic and it will be a great occasion.

“They know who they might have in the next round because the draw is made in advance, but we won’t be looking past this match.”

Also looking to continue their run in the competition tonight are Oxford City, who host Luton Town at Marsh Lane (7.30).

City are looking to reach the third round for the first time since the 1980-81 season, with either Royston Town or Welling United awaiting the winners of tonight’s match.
