Improving Abingdon United maintained their reputation for being involved in high-scoring games with a thrilling 3-3 draw away to Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division rivals Newbury on Saturday.

Abingdon led twice through Kieran Kochrane and Tom Melledew, but the hosts pulled back each time thanks to Callum Willmoth and Richard Guy.

Just after half-time, Guy put Newbury into the lead .

After Melledew had a penalty claim turned down, Abingdon made it 3-3 with a suprb individual goal from Jamie Mundy.

Milton United took the points with goals from Adam Bruce and Tommy Austin in a 2-1 win at home to Thatcham Town. Alex Hopeman replied.

Shrivenham caused a big upset with a 2-0 victory away to third-placed Ascot United with second-half strikes from from Steve Olphert and John Rees.

Bottom club Letcombe made Division 1 West leaders Longlevens work hard for their 2-1 away victory.

Bradley Martin and Brad Franstone put the visitors ahead before Matt Pill, with his first goal for the club, struck for the home team on the half-hour.

Letcombe dominated in the second half and saw Adam Claydon’s shot strike a post.
