  • "Just read on BBC Football that Mr Ashton has made it plain ownership of the stadium the club plays in is essential. Good to know he agrees with the majority of us who support the club, now let's hope the strengthened board can make it happen, whether it's to buy this concrete monolith and remove the Kassam name that adorns it or (preferred choice) build a new and more thought out stadium it really isn't hugely important. What is important is that the club get all the revenue the ground can bring in. Clubs that rent grounds, let alone pay incredibly high rent like OU do never grow, we've slumbered long enough now it's time to grow forward."

OXFORD United have announced two new faces will join the club's board.

Mike O'Leary and Frank Waterhouse both become non-executive directors, the latter replacing Paul Wright as chief financial officer.

O'Leary spent two years as chief executive at West Bromwich Albion and has more than 30 years of board experience.

Waterhouse, a chartered accountant, has spent a similar length of time working in finance.

The changes mean United's board now comprises Darryl Eales (chairman), Mark Aston (chief executive) and directors Ian Lenagan, Mike O’Leary and Frank Waterhouse.
