Very concerned about the fact Williams and wroe wont be playing for us next season as they were very good players for us. Better than players we had.
so unless we buy or get players as good or better than them two our team will be worse than last year I feel waddock had a disastrous start with us the squad is now worse so there for than last season so I hope and pray iL has got guts to get rid if the season starts as it ended last season if not got at least 75% of points available in first 6 games then he should be sacked 3points from last 24 available. From last season wasn't good enough had most off the team to pick from which wasn't the case over the season before he came. I gave him respect and a chance before criticize him he deserves that right but the team couldnt play together under home so his team strategy didnt work we would have been in the play offs at least if he had made a difference definitely not good enough young man as cloughie would have said
IL's choice - from so many ! Worrying
I totally agree with you for once and new ownership should be found asap I feel that we were in profit a few years ago Under him in conference but failed to realise that money needs to be spent in this league to get out off it if your not one off the best teams In the division i have a friend off wilder and he told him that he couldnt buy players he wanted to iL refused to back him financially as a result the team went stale and injuries caused the team to be less equipped for the league wasnt able to improve the squad so the result was less gates and revenue. Consider this ok 20 games off the 7230 gates we had two seasons ago to the 4300 this season probably 3000x £20 a game gates and revenue = £600000 + money from promotion could be into £1mill so £800000 loss is down to miss management from the top"

Oxford United’s players have been given no assurances they will be in the side next season, but Gary Waddock has not transfer-listed anyone under contract.

During a desperately disappointing finish to the campaign, which saw the U’s drop out of the Sky Bet League Two play-off places, the head coach suggested nobody was safe this summer.

Following a home defeat to Accrington Stanley last month, he said: “Big decisions need to be made and they certainly will be.”

Deane Smalley, Sean Rigg and Scott Davies, whose contracts expired at the end of the season, were released last week.

Loan trio Ryan Williams, Nicky Wroe and David Connolly have returned to their parent clubs, while James Constable and Tom Newey are considering contract offers.

For the moment no-one else is likely to leave, with those remaining at the club told they will be given the chance to claim a place in the team during pre-season.

Waddock said: “I’ve spoken to the players who are under contract.

“When they come back in they have to earn the right.”

The U’s boss has been busy chasing targets to improve the squad since the season finished, but is not actively looking to free up more room in the squad by making players available for transfer.

“There’s no point in doing that,” he said.

“There’s a good group of people here.

“The one thing I did say is there’s no guarantee they will be starting in that first team – that goes across the board.

“The ones I’ve moved out are out of contract and they’ve gone.

“Players that don’t figure in the early part of the season will have to make their minds up.”

Waddock also confirmed Jake Wright will remain United captain after the club activated a clause in the defender’s contract which extends his stay for another 12 months.

He said: “We’ve had a number of conversations since I’ve been here and he’s been good within the dressing room.

“His form wants to be better than it has been and he’s had injuries through the course of the season.

“He needs a breather just like all the other players do.”
