Excellent - hope he takes the offer up.

With different and more positive tactics -

like support for lone striker who has played the majority of the league campaign as ONE against FIVE

& had sole responsibility for covering every blade of grass in the attacking third to continually physically' harangue' / harry / pressurize the opposition thus being bolloxed for critical moments

with Attacking & supporting football - at last taking the game to the opposition

i think this could be equivalent to a second wind and new lease of life
At last someone appreciates a whole hearted trier, who puts defenders under pressure, runs his **** off and scores some great goals though not a great goal scorer. You can't have everything but Beano gives everything and given the right strike partner would be even more effective
i forgot to mention the spectacular goals ! it's a given ! They are always Quality or stand out .

with his intense running it's no wonder the intensity is there when a chance comes his way or with his intensity creates a chance and maybe the same intense pressure is on him technique wise

seems to be one of those players who can just do instinctually and if maybe given too long don't match his rhythm

if Waddock is gonna play a pressing attacking flowing game i think that'll match Constable's temperament perfectly constant movement as opposed to the rest of the team being static and a half a mile behind offering no options which will switch it up who's gonna shoot all focus prior to that has been on constable

after a FOUR year mission by himself hopefully it'll see him thrive

AND he's done well considering we haven't had a creative mobile playmaker for Gawd knows

as a player he must have been well frustrated playing for Oxford Utd these last four years so he certainly deserves his chance in a 'New System'
from the beginning of matches and hopefully NOT relegated to the bench as an impact sub

    COYY !"

James Constable has been offered the chance to stay at Oxford United following contract talks with the squad at the Kassam Stadium this morning.

The U's have also taken up the 12-month option on skipper Jake Wright's contract, but Deane Smalley, Sean Rigg and Scott Davies have been released.

Tom Newey will meet with head coach Gary Waddock tomorrow to discuss his future.

Wayne Brown, who was on a player/coach contract, will not be offered playing terms, but talks will follow about a coaching role.

Michael Raynes, whose original contract expired this summer, will stay after making enough appearances this season to activate a clause keeping him at the club for an additional 12 months.

Loan trio Ryan Williams, David Connolly and Nicky Wroe have all returned to their parent clubs.
