8:00am Wednesday 23rd April 2014

Vale of White Horse Under 13s celebrated a fabulous four-timer by winning all their matches at the ESFA Isle of Wight Festival.

To cap their superb week, they also won the Bert Worrall Fair Play Trophy, and a cash prize of £250.

James Stewart scored twice as Vale opened up with a 4-1 win over Yeovil at Shanklin FC.

Chris Mortimore and Jack Earl were also on target, before Yeovil reduced the deficit late on.

Vale were among the goals again as they beat Portsmouth Under 12s 4-0 at Isle of Wight Community Club, with Harry Thomas, Stewart, Jaiden Hawkins and Earl on target.

Mortimore’s strike from a free-kick then saw Vale edge past West Cornwall 1-0 at The Pavilion FC, Newchurch, in a game dominated by the two defences.

Vale completed their 100 per cent record with a 6-3 win over Gosport & Fareham at Brading FC.

Stewart (2), Mortimore (2) and Jamie Masters and an own goal secured victory.

Mortimore was named Vale’s player of the festival.

Vale under 14s experienced mixed fortunes from their difficult set of fixtures.

They opened up with a 5-1 victory over Bridgwater at Rookley FC, with goals from George Carder (2), James Spruyt, Tom Morris and Josh Dennis.

Vale were then beaten 3-2 by Greater Manchester side Tameside at Brading, with Spruyt and Max Taylor on target.

A disappointing display against the Isle of Wight at Shanklin saw Vale draw 1-1.

Josh Dennis scored for Vale, but they couldn’t find a winner.

Vale signed off with a 3-2 defeat by Cambridge at the Isle of Wight Community Club, Cowes.

Nico Cheesman and a Nathan Baker penalty made up Vale’s tally.

Defender Harry Mountford was Vale’s player of the festival.
