HORSPATH continue to hang on to the coattails of Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division leaders Oakley following their 3-1 success at Bletchingdon.

The visitors led 2-0 at half time up thanks to two defensive howlers.

Paul Cooper scored first from the penalty spot after the centre forward had been fouled following a pass straight to him from a Bletchingdon defender.

Then Elliott O’Brien netted after a Bletchingdon centre half fell over.

In the second half, Horspath deservedly scored a third through the impressive O’Brien, before Bletchingdon’s Todd Parker Hunt pulled one back.

Marston Saints had second half substitute Josh Carr to thanks for their 1-0 success over Launton Sports.

Carr had been on for just ten minutes when he fired home what proved to be the winner for the visitors.

Kidlington Res are still in prime position in Division 1 thanks to a 5-0 success over North Oxford Res.

Callum Green (2) and new boy Callum Harvey (2), paved the way for victory, but the pick of the goals came from Harry Ritchie late on, a classic volley.

Kidlington will have celebrated Eynsham’s 4-2 triumph at Broughton & North Newington.

This result leaves the pair tied in second spot, three points behind the leaders.

Eynsham took the lead in the seventh minute when a cross from the right was turned into his own net by Kevin Cooper.

Will Morris quickly made it 2-0, before Broughton captain Gareth Davies headed home at the back post.

Eynsham scored two more through Andy Glossop and Jamie Hodges.

Broughton pulled one back through Lewis Mitchell.

Freeland gave up a two goal lead and had to settle for a point from their 3-3 Division 2 draw with OUP Res.

Glastonbury (2) and Simlett were on target for Freeland with Walsj (2) and Aselford salvaging a point.

Adderbury Park Res scored first and last at Eynsham Res, but they went down 4-2.

Daniel Butler and Kyle Forbes got the goals for the losers, but Hamza Yassine (2), Shandes Rouslama, Jon and Hamza Yassine saw Eynsham home.

Bletchingdon Res thumped Marston Saints Res 4-1.

Tom Williams grabbed two early goals and though Tej Constant pulled one back, Garth Davies and Jordan Gray sealed it.

Daniel Barrett grabbed a treble in Oakley United’s 4-1 win over North Oxford Res in Division 3.

Tom Hutchinson replied. Yarnton Res had the measure of Launton Res with a 3-0 victory. Callam Grant, Jake and Jamie Cattell got the home goals.

  • Middleton Cheney Res enjoyed success in Group D of the Archie Goddard Cup with a 4-1 win over Charlton.

Lee Gascoigne (2) and Steve O’Brion (2) proved the match-winners with Daniel Sweeney pulling a goal back for the battling visitors.
