Didcot Town conceded three goals in a crazy six-minute spell as they crashed to a disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to Taunton on Saturday.

With the game goalless after nearly an hour’s play, the Railwaymen’s defence disintegrated and allowed the visitors to take all three points from this Calor League Division 1 South & West clash.

There was not much to choose between the sides in the first half, although Taunton had the slight edge.
Ross MacNab headed over the bar and Steve Kingdon saw another effort scrambled off the line as Taunton piled on the pressure.

Didcot came closest to scoring when skipper Luke Carnell’s header was saved by Joe Perry in Taunton’s goal.

On the stroke of half-time, only a brave stop by home keeperJames Foster prevented Chris Young from grabbing the opener as he bore down on goal.
With the wind at their backs after the break, Taunton were soon in the ascendancy.

And it was no surprise when Kingdon rammed home at the far post in the 58th minute to put thevisitors  ahead.

Almost straight from the kick-off, Taunton won the ball back and MacNab fired his second goal into the far corner, giving Foster no chance.
Incredibly, just another four minutes later MacNab was at it again when he fired low under Foster.

Didcot rarely looked like getting back into it and if it had not  been for Foster’s brilliant saves to deny substitute Steve Murray and Young, the scoreline could have been even more distressing for the home supporters.
