Dave Turner, manager of Hellenic League club Shrivenham Town, has died of a suspected heart attack.
The Shrivenham boss, who was in his early 50s, took over at the club in the summer following a five-year spell at Wootton Bassett.
He guided Bassett to two promotions to the Hellenic Premier Division and took them further than they had ever been in the FA Cup and FA Vase.
Mr Turner, an ardent Swindon Town supporter, left them for local rivals Shrivenham in May last year.
He is survived by his wife, Trisha, and sons Alex, 24, and James, 22. The latter is a player at the Oxfordshire club and also turned out for his father at Wootton Bassett.
Shrivenham’s Hellenic League Challenge Cup fixture at home to Wantage Town tonight has been postponed.
