OXFORD United will be hoping tomorrow’s officials have their eyes peeled after a controversial incident in the 3-2 defeat to Plymouth Argyle on Boxing Day.

Just after falling behind, James Constable powered a header which hit the underside of the crossbar.

Referee Andy Davies allowed play to continue, but footage appeared to show the ball had crossed the line.

Constable was frustrated, but admitted it was not clear at the time, tweeting: “I wasn’t sure, thought it was close but couldn’t see through all the bodies! Linesman had the best view!”
