Ardley United went top of the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division for the first time this season with a 1-0 win at Wantage Town.

Ollie Stanbridge’s overhead kick from close range in the 55th minute, after Adam Beckett’s long throw was headed on at the near post, gave Ardley victory.

It saw them leapfrog both their second-placed opponents and previous leaders Reading Town, who were held to a goalless draw at home to Brimscombe & Thrupp.

Abingdon United had Jack Bernsaconi sent off for a second yellow offence in the closing stages as they went down 1-0 at Highworth Town.

Matty Horsell struck in the 57th-minute for Highworth, lashing home a loose ball after Ryan King’s cross hit the far post and came out.

Oxford City Nomads slumped to a 4-1 defeat at Flackwell Heath.

Lee Thompson, Joe Blount, Gavin James and Ryan Millward netted for Flackwell, before Louis Joyce pulled one back.

Carterton were unable to stop Tytherington Rocks marching on at the top of Division 1 West as they crashed to a 5-0 away defeat.

Justin Bishop opened the scoring in the 15th minute and Joe White hit a second-half hat-trick, including a penalty, with Stuart Nelson also scoring from the spot.

Hook Norton won 2-1 at home to Purton.

Mark Dennis and Joe Eyre netted for Hook Norton, before Jonathan Coole reduced the deficit.

Craig Pearman’s 56th-minute strike gave Easington Sports a 1-0 win at New College Swindon.

Milton United drew 1-1 at home to Chalfont Wasps in Division 1 East Matt Chomyn scored for Milton, with Fred Tripp the Chalfont marksman.
